Race starts at 8am
Lineup order - 5K Runners, 5K walkers, and then 1 mile walkers.

Bitty Bug Run to start after 1 milers finish: approximately 9am

Awards

Medals will be given to the top 3 winners in each age division for both male and female, as well as to the top 3 overall male and female finishers.

SMA Quick Facts
- 1 in every 40 people, or nearly 10 million Americans, UNKNOWINGLY carries the gene responsible for SMA.  Few have any known family history.
- SMA is a genetic recessive disease that kills more babies than ANY other inherited disease.  It is the number one genetic killer of children under the age of two.
- 50% of SMA Type I babies don't live to see their 1st birthday.
- 90% of SMA Type I babies don't live to see their 2nd birthday.
- There are four types of SMA Type I, II, III, and IV with type I being the most severe.
-Because scientists know so much about SMA, it is considered a "model" disease with direct impact on research into many other diseases potentially benefiting millions of people.
- There are currently many drugs and therapies being tested as treatments and/or cures.  A very promising Gene Therapy trial is hoped to be in Human Clinical Trial in 2013.  THAT'S THIS YEAR!!

In-Kind Donations

In addition to monetary donations, our Bug Run will need donations of goods and services.  Items needed include water for race runners, food and drink, printing, tshirts, capes for the Bitty Bug Dash, signs, etc. If your company is able to donate these needed items, the race will consider the appropriate level of sponsorship benefits to be rendered to you. All in-kind donations will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

Additional Company Involvement:
Have your company compile a team and run in our race! In addition to the race fee, you can fundraise together and add to the support of this event! If your company has a matching gift policy they can match what the team collects in donations! A fun way to get the whole company involved!THANK YOU for your sponsorship consideration!
